Carpet Moth Control · Bexley
How Much Does Carpet Moth Treatment Cost in Bexley?
Carpet moth treatment is £180 for the first room and £60 for each additional room. The room next door is nearly always worth doing at the same time.
The Published Price
First room £180, additional rooms £60 each. Count the rooms with wool or wool-mix carpet, plus any room with a wool rug on top of a hard floor.
Why the Second Room Usually Matters
Carpet moths spread along the quiet edges of a property - under the gripper rod at the room perimeter, beneath furniture that has not moved in years, through the gap where the carpet passes under a door and into the hall.
By the time damage is visible in one room, the adjoining room has very often had larvae in its edges for a while without showing anything. At £60 that room is cheap to include, and going back for it later is not.

Where the Money Actually Goes
Not into spraying the middle of the floor, which is the part of the carpet nothing lives in. The treatment goes to the perimeter, along the gripper rod, under and behind the furniture, into wardrobe floors and around the pipe holes where a radiator pipe comes through - the places the larvae feed because nothing disturbs them there.
Which is why clearing the floor matters. A room treated with the sofa left in place is a room where the worst square metre never got touched, and you paid the same for it.
Treatment Does Not Repair the Carpet
It stops the damage getting worse. It does not put back what has already gone, and no treatment does. If a patch is threadbare to the backing it will still be threadbare afterwards. Worth knowing before you decide between treating and replacing.
If you are replacing anyway, treat before the new carpet goes down rather than after - larvae in the underlay and the perimeter will happily start on a new carpet.
Rugs and Valuable Textiles
We treat pests. We do not clean, repair or value textiles, and we will not spray an antique or hand-knotted rug - that is a specialist rug cleaner, and it is a genuinely different trade. Where a valuable rug is part of the problem, we will say what we can and cannot do with it before quoting.
Frequently Asked Questions
Will treatment repair the damaged carpet?
No. It stops further damage. Nothing puts back fibre that has already been eaten.
Do I need to move the furniture?
As much as you can. The edges under and behind furniture are where the larvae are.
Should I just replace the carpet?
If you do, treat before the new one goes down. Larvae in the underlay and perimeter will start on it otherwise.
